Halloween can be exciting for both kids and adults, and if you’re handing out treats or going along for the trick-or-treat fun this year, a little extra caution can help prevent accidents and dangers.
Here are a few of the AAP’s tips to help keep you and your family safe this Halloween:
- Wear bright, reflective costumes and avoid masks that limit sight lines
- Bring flashlights or glow sticks and stay in well-lit areas
- Remember general traffic safety, like using crosswalks and sidewalks
- At home, turn on exterior lights and clear walkways to keep visitors safe

Have a safe and happy Halloween!
