Halloween Safety

Halloween can be exciting for both kids and adults, and if you’re handing out treats or going along for the trick-or-treat fun this year, a little extra caution can help prevent accidents and dangers.

Here are a few of the AAP’s tips to help keep you and your family safe this Halloween:

  • Wear bright, reflective costumes and avoid masks that limit sight lines
  • Bring flashlights or glow sticks and stay in well-lit areas
  • Remember general traffic safety, like using crosswalks and sidewalks
  • At home, turn on exterior lights and clear walkways to keep visitors safe

More Halloween safety tips can be found at the American Academy of Pediatrics website.

Have a safe and happy Halloween!
